TRM piles used for building a new primary school at Dornbirn

The city of Dornbirn is building a new three-storey building for class wings and a fully equipped basement. Ground exposures revealed very difficult underground, resulting in a geotechnical challenge for the deep foundation. First proposals went in the direction of flight auger piles or “pressure grouted ductile piles”. Considering different pile heights and spatial conditions of the new building, TRM piling systems made the best offer and won the tender. Due to the thinness of the system, a buckling safety check was needed and successfully passed.
