Municipality of Grafenstein - Rehabilitation of the elevated tank drainage system
The market town of Grafenstein borders on the Carinthian capital of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee to the east. Due to its proximity to Klagenfurt, Grafenstein is an attractive place to move to. Grafenstein currently has just under 3,000 inhabitants.
At the beginning of mid-October 2022, the old discharge line from the elevated tank in Grafenstein, which was in need of renovation, was replaced. In the course of the renovation, a total of 3 pipes - 1x DN 300 and 2x DN 150 - were replaced over a total length of 300 running metres. In the course of the rehabilitation work, work was also carried out in and on the elevated tank.
Ductile iron pipes from Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM) in DN 300 and DN 150 VRS-T with Pur LL coating and with the special corrosion protection ZMU Austria were used. In addition, Hawle products are used in the fittings area. Both companies - TRM and Hawle - are Austrian family businesses.
A particular difficulty in this project was the steep slope in the construction area. The construction work was carried out by the company ICON Infrastruktur Bau GmbH from Wolfsberg to the satisfaction of all project participants. The work on the elevated tank was carried out by Piplan from Feistritz/Drau.
Mr. DI Wolfgang Obernosterer from the planning office Oberessl&Kantz ZT from Klagenfurt was responsible for the planning.
