New construction of spring discharge Kösselquelle

Construction or renewal of the Kösselquelle spring discharge in the market town of Leogang.

The municipality of Leogang, known for its year-round tourism, is investing in the renewal of its drinking water supply. Thus the municipality in the Salzburg Pinzgau guarantees a safe and sustainable drinking water supply for the coming decades in the central municipal area. The Kössel spring, the Reiteralm spring and the Rotbrunnen spring serve as water sources. The spring water is stored in elevated tanks and later fed into the drinking water network. Due to the age of large parts of the Kösselquelle spring diversion system, the municipality has now decided to extensively renew the pipes.  Tiroler Rohre GmbH was chosen as a competent regional partner for this project. In this project, 1700 linear meters of DN 250 ductile iron pipes with PUR Longlife coating are being installed. The pipes are connected by the tried-and-tested VRS-T restrained locking system. In the fittings area, the company relies on products from Hawle, like TRM an Austrian family-owned company. The planning of this project was carried out by the Hydrological Investigation Unit Salzburg (HUS), and the construction work was awarded to the construction company ETM from Bruck an der Glocknerstraße. The renewal and renovation work was completed in spring 2022. This will be followed by the installation of an elevated tank, which will have an additional 50 linear meters of ductile iron pipes installed. The project will be completed by the end of 2022.
