Water becomes energy - clean electricity for Dorfgastein

In order to be able to supply around 1,000 households with clean electricity in the future, ÖBF AG decided in the municipality of Dorfgastein to build a new small hydropower plant. This new power plant was built in compliance with the highest ecological standards and using environmentally compatible construction methods and is expected to save around 3,400 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

The promoter, ÖBF Wasserkraft GesmbH, decided to carry out this project together with us, the TRM. TRM pressure pipes with nominal width DN 500 were used, equipped with the tension- and thrust-proof VRS®-T connection. By choosing this product, it was not possible to cast in concrete over the entire 1,600-meter stretch, thus reducing overall construction costs.
