A pipe network calculation of the company SETEC has shown that the main line in an area of the municipality Feldkirchen (10. Oktober Straße) is too small. In this calculation, all information on line sizing and routing was compiled taking into account the pressure and volume behavior in the entire supply network of Feldkirchen.
In order to ensure the security of supply of drinking and utility water for the city, as well as for the newly developed land in this area, an extension of the existing system was decided. Furthermore, the commissioning of new pumping stations for the hinterland of Feldkirchen was included in the project.
The total volume of this major project amounts to around 1,000,000 euros and should be realized by 2020. The company CCE-Ziviltechniker GmbH, which was commissioned to plan and manage the project, decided to use this project as supplier for the selected GGG pipes in nominal sizes DN 200 (for 2122 m), DN 150 (for 2370 m) DN 125 (for 726 m) and DN 100 (for 4998 m) to bring on board.
The special challenge of this project is to ensure the supply of water to the city and surrounding areas during construction. For this purpose, various evasion plans have been developed, which also take a close look at the scheduling of the construction phases in order not to influence the traffic too much.
