Fieberbrunner Bergbahnen extend snow-making system

Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn are expanding their snow-making system after the end of the winter season and are also expanding the storage pond at the spreading floor to meet the increasing demand for water. The construction work should be completed by the beginning of the winter season 2018. The planning services for this plant come from the renowned Absamer engineering firm Klenkhart and Partners. The enlarged storage pond, with a volume of 150,000 m³, is to be filled with meltwater and rainwater in the spirit of sustainability. He is the starting point of the new leadership. The laying work of the TRM pipes is coordinated and supervised by the experienced operations manager of Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn, Franz Fleckl.

A total of just under 4.5 kilometers of pipes will be laid in this project and around 37 new snow guns will be installed. The installed pressure pipes from TRM are nominal diameters from DN 80 to 500, which withstand up to 100 bar pressure. Bergbahnen Fieberbrunn decided to lay the pipes in a so-called "tubular film". This is a very easy way to protect ductile iron pipes in aggressive soil conditions. This film offers in addition to the coating an additional corrosion protection. This investment will reduce the basic snowmaking time for the entire ski area to about a week.

Safe water supply.
