New Ski Connection at Kieserl – with TRM Pipeline Systems
With the opening of the new Kieserlbahn I + II 10-seater gondola lifts, the Roslehenhochalm ski area in the Großarl Valley was reconnected for the 2023/24 winter season. Approximately 20 hectares of newly developed, snow-covered slopes and a second direct ski link to Dorfgastein now offer increased capacity and new opportunities for the resort.
For the snowmaking infrastructure, Großarler Bergbahnen once again relied on ductile iron pipes from TRM. A total of around 7 km of new pipelines including connections were installed, about 1 km of which are designated for drinking water supply.
Pipes used featured PUR-Longlife coating and came in dimensions from DN 80 to DN 300, covering all pressure classes up to PN 100. With an internal cement lining and external zinc coating plus an additional protective layer, they offer optimal corrosion resistance and long-term durability – even under challenging alpine conditions.
