The Ischgl ski area at over 2,300 m above sea level has been working on the new Viderböden storage pond since May. The construction site is also called "heart transplantation" because the heart of the snowmaking system - the reservoir lake - has to be completely laid.
The existing storage pond location including the upper and especially the lower slope are constantly in motion and was no longer approved by the authority at the end of the winter season 2016/17 operation, which is why you had to look around a new location. This should be as close as possible to the previous location to connect the lines without long distances and from there to be able to initiate the water in the widely branched network of the existing system without unnecessary excavation work.
