The well-known Tyrolean family ski area Kappl invests in the future and in the summer of 2018 expands the existing snow-making system. This is another measure to make the region attractive. The need for a high-performance snow plant results from the location of the ski area on the sunny side. For this reason, work has been carried out on expanding the existing network over the past few years. In the summer of 2018, a pumping station was built and self-contained pressure pipes of the Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM) on a total length of 4.5 km installed.
Ductile iron pipes in nominal sizes DN 80 to DN 300 were used, which withstand pressure levels up to 100 bar. Bergbahnen Kappl have been partners of the TRM for many years. They appreciate the on-site service and the rapid availability of the company's products and delivery capabilities. In order to make the ski area more interesting for hikers in the summer, numerous innovations have been created. For the year 2019, the construction of an additional reservoir is planned.
