The ski area Maria Alm is currently working hard. At the start of the winter season 2018, two new circulating cable cars - Sonnbergbahn and Natrunbahn - are to be put into operation. In addition, the network of snow-making systems will be compacted and partially rebuilt. The ski resort uses the proven ductile iron pipes of Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM). All in all, pressure pipes in nominal sizes DN 80 to DN 300 will be installed over a total length of nine kilometers.
They were able to score points in the award of the contract due to their high pressure resistance and the restrained VRS®-T connection. Due to the long service life of TRM pipes, the idea of sustainability is also met. In order to have the necessary amount of water available, a new reservoir with a volume of 65,000 m³ will be created. For this reason, the mountain stations of the two railways are rebuilt just under 400 m higher.
