In the summer of 2022, the Rauris water association in Salzburg's Pinzgau region, led by Josef Egger, decided to renew the existing drinking water supply and build three new drinking water power plants as part of the project. A central aspect of this project was the complete renewal of the pipelines and the associated removal of the existing pressure interrupter shafts.
In order to ensure optimum drinking water quality and high reliability in coping with pressure and tensile loads, the decision was made to work with the regional partner Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM). In addition, the company's sustainable working methods were another decisive factor in the choice of manufacturers and suppliers.
A total of 3,525 m of TRM pipes in sizes DN 150 and DN 250 were installed for the drinking water supply, which could be laid quickly and easily thanks to the VRS®-T system.
The laying work covered the period from September 2022 to May 2023, with the water association ensuring an uninterrupted supply of drinking water to its members in Rauris during the entire construction period.
Furthermore, 2,870 m of DN 150 TRM pipes PN 63 were laid for power plant stage 3 as part of the first section and 1,400 m of DN 250 TRM pipes PN 40 were laid in the third section.
The new pressure pipes from TRM offer more than just the necessary pressure resistance for operating the turbines. Thanks to their high quality, they also guarantee trouble-free operation for many decades.
Safe water supply.
