Revitalization of Friedrich power plant in St. Michael

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the small hydropower plant Friedrich in St. Michael im Lungau was subjected to a revitalization. The extensive renovation work started in June 2017 and was completed in September 2017. In the course of the rejuvenation of this plant, the pipes with a diameter of DN 150 of a length of 1500 m, which are too small, have been replaced by new, non-sheared TRM cast iron pipes with a nominal width of DN 250. Thus, the power of 53 kW was increased to the approved 100 kW, enabling an annual electricity production of 650 000 MW / h.

Furthermore, the parallel snowmaking line was integrated at both ends and the entire power plant control including turbine replaced (this was done by the building company Troyer).

Safe water supply.
