As part of the reconstruction work carried out by ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG in the community of Wolfsberg, several main collection channels had to be redeployed. This affected the municipal sewer system as well as the plant channel of the pulp and paper mill Mondi Frantschach GmbH.
When selecting the pipe material of the rather extensive assignment, great attention was paid to the longevity and also to the quality of the pipes to be used. Due to the long service life and the unique characteristics of our pipe systems, TRM was awarded the contract for this project through a construction contract from ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG.
Our VRS®-T restrained joints in nominal sizes DN 300, DN 400 and DN 600 were used. In order to be prepared for all eventualities that may occur on a station site, it was decided to use ZMU coated pipes (with regard to leakage currents, etc.). Construction began in winter / spring 2017 and was finalized in summer 2017. Before the new pipeline system was put into operation, a video survey and a leak test were carried out.
