New snowmaking system for the Glungezer

The Glungezer in Tulfes is an important skiing area for the residents of the Hall area. Families in particular appreciate the mountain because of its topography and its good connection to public transport. In 2019 the attractiveness of the ski area was continued with the installation of a snowmaking system. Snow lines from Tiroler Rohr GmbH with a nominal diameter of DN80 to DN300 were used at a distance of 8190 meters. The decision for the local pipe manufacturer was made due to the high pressure load of the pipes up to 100 bar. In addition to the field lines that were laid by GLS Bau- und Montage GmbH, a storage pond could also be built by ARGE-GeoAlpinbau GmbH to supply the snow cannons with sufficient water. The plans for the expansion come from the Absamer Ingenieurbüro Klenkhart und Partner GmbH. The first modernization was carried out in 2018 with the construction of a 10-person gondola lift in the lower section. The Glungezer scores with skiers, touring and tobogganing in winter as well as with mountain athletes in summer.
