Replacement of drinking water pipes at Altenmarkt im Pongau

The municipality of Altenmarkt im Pongau is an influx community. This can be attributed to a strong local economy and very well-developed tourism. Above all, as a year-round tourist destination, the Salzburg community can score points with its guests and offers secure jobs. In the course of the expansion of the district heating network, investments are also being made this year in the renewal or renovation of the drinking water supply. For this purpose, ductile iron pipes from Tiroler Rohre GmbH are being installed in nominal sizes of DN 100, DN 150 and DN 200 with the tried and tested VRS-T joint which is resistant to shear and tension. For the external coating, the waterworks opted for high-quality pipes with the PUR Longlife coating. In addition, products from the Upper Austrian company Hawle are used in the fittings area. In addition to the replacement of existing pipelines, drinking water pipelines are also being laid in two development areas. The plans for the replacement and new installation of the water pipes were drawn up by the Salzburg planning office DI Berger. This has been a partner of the Altenmarkt municipality for decades. The laying work for the pipelines themselves is carried out by the waterworks of the Altenmarkt municipality. Here, in addition to the rapid availability of the pipes, Tiroler Rohre GmbH can also provide support in form of ongoing laying training. The excavation work and the laying of the district heating pipes will be carried out by the local company Austrobau. The construction project will be completed in November 2021.

Safe water supply.
