The Oberrot sawmill in Baden-Württemberg, which has been part of the Binderholz Group since 2017, is being expanded to include a sawing line. The Zillertal construction company Hollaus was commissioned with the foundation work. High occurring loads due to the plant operation and settlement-sensitive machine components made a deep foundation necessary due to poor geological conditions. Ductile iron piles were used for this project in close coordination between the client, the geotechnical engineer and the specialist planner. TRM 118/9.00 mm ductile iron piles with conical grouted pile shoes in a nominal width of 220 mm were chosen. In addition to the good geotechnical properties of the driven piling system from the Tyrolean manufacturer, the production location in Austria and the associated short delivery routes were also arguments in favor of TRM. Due to the proven plug and drive connection, a high daily output is possible. As a complete system, TRM also offers a wide range of accessories. Binderholz operates 14 production sites worldwide: in addition to the five Austrian ones - Fügen, Jenbach, St. Georgen, Hallein and Unternberg - two in Finland, Lieksa and Nurmes, the two Klausner Lumber One and Two recently acquired in the USA in Live Oak, Florida, and Enfield, North Carolina, as well as five German ones, Kösching, Burgbernheim, Oberrot, Baruth and Wolfegg.
