TRM piling system for South African electricity

Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM) has two business units. In addition to the production of ductile iron pipes, ductile driven piles are also produced in Hall in Tirol, the heart of the Alps. TRM piling systems are an integral part of deep foundations. Houses, industrial structures, bridges or even tall structures, such as wind turbines or power pylons, can be founded on this piling system. A good proportion of sales comes from international customers, including South Africa. Our customer in South Africa, T.R.M. Piling Ltd. was commissioned to build several hundred foundations for a 400 kV power line. The aim of this project is to provide a constant power supply to Pretoria, east of the Capital. The project connects the Kusile power plant with the Lulamisa substation. The expansion is intended to reduce the electricity shortage that has existed in the region for years. The regular blackouts of the network in the area due to overloads will be reduced by the new 400 kV power line.
