The city of Cluj-Napoca, formerly Cluj-Napoca, is Romania's second largest city with 330,000 inhabitants and is located in the northwest of the country, in the historic region of Transylvania. The city's sewage network is now outdated and no longer meets current requirements. A project financed by EU funds is now constructing a 180-kilometre-long pipeline for sewage disposal in nominal sizes DN100 to DN600. Tiroler Rohre GmbH was commissioned as pipe supplier for the first construction phase (DN300 to DN600). The decisive factors were the highest demands on a sustainable, robust and safe pipeline (TRM PUR Longlife), as well as the simplicity of the laying process (the well proofed restrained locking system VRS®-T). A special request from the customer was also the rapid availability on the construction site.
Safe water supply.
