Extension of the Company Headquarters, Leitner AG – Sterzing (Italy)
As part of the expansion of the company headquarters of Leitner AG in Sterzing, a new office building was constructed. Due to the silty-sandy subsoil conditions, a deep foundation system was required to reliably transfer the structural loads into load-bearing soil layers.
A total of 293 TRM driven piles were installed for the foundation, with an average length of approximately 15.6 meters. The total pile length amounted to around 4,580 meters.
The pile foundation was executed by Keller Fondazioni S.R.L., with geotechnical supervision and design carried out in close coordination with Graus GmbH. To ensure load-bearing capacity, driving records were prepared for each pile, supplemented by four pile load tests, which confirmed the characteristic pile load of 400 kN.
The project highlights the performance and versatility of the TRM driven pile system, particularly for new constructions on challenging subsoil conditions, and ensures a stable and durable foundation for the new office buildings.
