TRM piling systems approved by BMK

Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM), based in Hall in Tirol, is known for its reliable TRM piling systems. Now, after a year of work, we have succeeded in obtaining approval from the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK). So far there is already a European standardization for the common foundation variants. From the company's point of view, however, it was also necessary for this simple system with very little construction site requirements to define a quality and safety standard that every user can be shown to comply with.

The approval with the reference number GZ: 2020-0.094.414, TRM piling systems, includes driven piles made of ductile iron pipes with Ø 98 mm, Ø 118 mm and Ø 170 mm as well as graduated wall thicknesses as well as an inner concrete filling and with or with pressure grouting according to ÖNORM B 2567: 2018, ÖNORM EN 12699: 2015, ÖNORM B 1997-1-1: 2013 and ÖNORM B 1997-1-3: 2015. But why did TRM acquire this approval?

In special foundation engineering there are countless variants to cope with the most varied of challenging conditions of difficult soil conditions. Not only the type of process but also the choice of suitable materials pose major challenges for manufacturers and specialist companies. If the perfecting of the process in the subsoil is mainly in the hands of specialist civil engineering companies, the system manufacturers are primarily responsible for the further development of the system in the area of ​​materials, connections and equipment. All of this takes a lot of time and sometimes high investment costs.

Of course, the existence of such regulations never releases everyone from the competent work of everyone involved in a project. Our special thanks also go to all our partners from science, industry and, last but not least, the executing trade as well as planners and experts with whom we were able to carry out a number of research projects that made a significant contribution to the creation of the present approval.

With this, TRM hopes to be able to set another milestone in order to be able to meet the challenges of a hotly contested market, especially in the public sector, even better.
