Hansl-Power: Sustainable Hydropower from the Nock Mountains
A new small hydropower plant, “Hansl-Power,” has recently gone into operation in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Nockberge in Carinthia. The engineer couple Hudelist successfully implemented the project with great personal commitment and TRM ductile iron pipes, despite the challenging alpine terrain. Approximately 340,000 kWh of green electricity are generated annually – thanks to smart planning, robust pipe technology, and a custom-designed Pelton turbine. A strong example of sustainable energy production in a sensitive natural environment.
