A 10 Tauernautobahn - Zederhaus enclosure

In 2004, ASFINAG, the federal government and the states signed a "Joint Declaration on the Development and Implementation of Environmental Relief Measures" along the A 10 Tauern motorway between Salzburg and Carinthia. A package of around 300 million euros was set up to effectively protect the residents. The housing project in Zederhaus is currently the largest project (investment 67 million euros) realized.

End of August 2013, work began on the construction of a nearly one and a half kilometer long enclosure, which is to protect the residents of Zederhaus from the noise along the A 10 and by summer 2017 should be completed.

During the construction work on the carriageway in Carinthia, it became apparent during ongoing ground investigations that due to the poorly loadable ground, a deep foundations would be necessary to divert the loads of the tunnel structure into viable soil layers. On behalf of ASFINAG, the construction company Felbermayr Bau GmbH was commissioned with the preparation of an addendum offer. The economic testing, the flexibility as well as the production of test pegs and a static test load made the choice for the TRM piling system possible with cement mortar-pressed, ductile cast pile piles. Approximately 35,000 meters of lenght will thus be laid underground, thus ensuring a stable foundation for a measure that will provide the Zederhauser and Zederhauser with a better quality of life. The foundation of the first directional carriageway with 20,000 meters of TRM pile was successfully completed in 2015.
