Sestriere counts on TRM: Optimized snowmaking for the 2024/25 winter season

The winter sports destination Sestriere, part of the Via Lattea ski resort, is modernizing its snow-making technology with the support of TRM. As part of a comprehensive four-phase plan, ductile iron pipes from Tiroler Rohre GmbH (TRM) have been integrated into the field pipelines - a measure to improve efficiency and save energy.

Thanks to the collaboration with Italian partner Demaclenko and the use of TRM pipes in the dimensions DN 80 to DN 400, the snowmaking system was tailored to the special requirements of the area. With a pressure resistance and durability that can withstand extreme weather conditions, as well as a 20 percent reduction in energy consumption, the new system offers long-term efficiency and operational reliability.

More than 15,600 m of TRM pipes have been installed by 2024 - an investment in the future of the winter season and an example of the successful partnership between TRM, Demaclenko and Sestriere. Quality, innovation and collaborative partnership are the keys to the success of this project.
